Brasstown

I've posted some of the highlight pics that april took on brasstown on saturday. Let me tell ya it rocked. We got to our spot that was about 400 meters from the line at about 1 pm i think the race got there after 3 but it was well worth the wait. We hung out with what i will call the unofficial dave zabriskie fan club, complete with mustaches ( see pics). When the race got on the mountain people came up from the parking lot to watch and it filled in around us. I'm a cycling fan, that said, a couple of these dudes that must think it is their calling to push these riders up the hill need to stay at home. I mean really. ITs one thing to give a needy rider a push its another to show up and thats like the reason you are there. Your mission is to piss off everybody around you and ignore the nice people that volunteer to keep people like you in line. Anyway, i would have like to see Trent Lowe hold on the jersey but i'm kinda glad somebody other than levi won. My biggest question as the leaders and the say top 20 went by was "wheres Tom Danielson?" I knew that Tyler Hamilton would be way back but Damn he was alot farther back than i thought he would be. From the look on danielsons face he had a little smile on it when he got a big push as he went by us. By far the coolest expression we saw was Chris Horner turn his head and grin at us as he went by. I got my picture taken with George Hincapie after the race which was very cool. I also found out that a guy used to race with is wrench with Toyota-United which was awesome i'll have to catch up with him next time. As i get more of the pics sorted out i'll post more of em and if anybody wants some of the pictures let me know i'll email em to ya. Next year i'm taking my bike and riding up and maybe we can stay in lovely helen again and ride unicoi and hogpen gaps
