Daddy why don't you enter the Bike Race?
My 6 year old asks me while watching the Tour "daddy why dont you join the bike race?" I think its so cute. But it makes me feel badly that i am not setting a good example for my kids. I hate to feel like me riding is important but it is. It is who i am i feel so much better about myself if i am active and i am so inactive it is driving me crazy. It doesnt make any sense when i could easily just change my ways but i have about every excuse in the book to use. I just have to get on it and change some things around.

Back to zero.
I reset my bike computer the other day. The number on there was terrible for almost 2 years of riding . I have to do better to be better. We started the south beach diet last week, and we are into week two of phase 1. I can honestly say i have more enthusiasm for this than any other diet i have ever been on and it is working. I am entered in a run on Thanksgiving day and i am super excited so any riding i do is more recovery for that and to burn some calories. I was doing a training plan in the "Ride your was lean" book. I do think it is kinda for freds but the training plan was fairly sound for somebody with low fitness like me. i will jump back in in a couple of weeks.
I have outlined a few goals for next year cycling wise and they go like this. I dont have a ironclad plan and i havent sit down with a calender but i want to do quad cities memorial day weekend, rain in july and the gateway cup in stl on labor day weekend. I lust after northern georgia mountains so it is very important to me to do six gap. That one may be iffy but i have the other events taken care of this should happen. I am going to use this blog to keep it all together.
